Chris Jones

Assistant Vice President for Budget & Planning

Chris Jones serves as the Assistant Vice President for Budget and Planning and directs the WSU Budget Office. In this role he oversees the planning of WSU’s system-wide operating budget and management of the university’s core funds. He also collaborates with university leaders on budget-related policy development and the preparation of WSU’s annual state budget request.

Since joining WSU as a Budget/Policy Analyst in 2013, Chris has been recognized in increasing leadership responsibilities, and has enjoyed collaborating with faculty and staff across the institution.

Chris earned a Bachelor of Economics from Clemson University, and a Master of Public Administration and graduate certificate in public policy from North Carolina State University. Prior to WSU, he worked for the North Carolina Office of State Budget and Management and provided oversight as a Budget Analyst for several public universities.
